About WC Matches

WC Matches is an independent guide to every World Cup in every sport. The site is founded and edited by Jakob Dahl Strand, based in Norway, and is not affiliated with any sports governing body. Coverage begins with the Football World Cup 2026. Every page is reviewed by Jakob before it goes live. This page explains what we cover, how we work, and how the site is funded.

What is WC Matches?

WC Matches is a schedule, broadcaster guide, and kickoff-time reference for World Cup tournaments across every sport. At launch the site covers the Football World Cup 2026 — 104 matches, 48 teams, across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, from to . The site is built to add further tournaments — cricket, rugby, women’s football, and others — without structural changes, as schedules and broadcaster rights are confirmed.

The site is available in English and Norwegian Bokmål at launch. Each language version is written natively, not auto-translated, with broadcaster data and kickoff times tailored to that audience.

What the site does not do: there are no live scores in v1, no user accounts, and no registration required to use any part of it. The full schedule and the where-to-watch guide are free to browse.

Who writes WC Matches?

Jakob Dahl Strand is the founder and editor of WC Matches. He launched the site to give fans clear, accurate, source-checked information about kickoff times, broadcasters, and how to watch — without the noise. Based in Norway, he draws on years of following international football and an editorial background built around fact-checked reporting. WC Matches’ coverage starts with the Football World Cup 2026 and expands to every World Cup that follows. Every page is reviewed by Jakob before it goes live.

How is content produced?

Every page on WC Matches is reviewed and edited by Jakob Dahl Strand before it is published. The review is fact-focused: every kickoff time, venue name, and broadcaster detail is checked against primary source data so that the World Cup information you read on the site is accurate and verifiable. Pages that cannot be fact-checked are not published.

Every fact on the site must trace back to a structured source data file. Anything not confirmed in source data is marked as pending rather than invented. For the full account of how we source, review, and correct content, see the editorial policy.

How we make money

WC Matches may earn commission through affiliate links to streaming services and VPN providers. These are the only active affiliate categories at launch. Bookmaker affiliate links are not active and are permanently excluded from Norwegian-language pages under Norwegian gambling law.

Affiliate relationships do not affect editorial decisions. Free-to-air and free-streaming options are always listed before paid options — for example, in the United States, Tubi appears before any paid service on the where-to-watch guide. Paid options are ranked by quality and relevance, not by commission rate. There are no paid placements and no broadcasters pay for inclusion.

WC Matches may earn commission from affiliate links on this page and across the site. This does not affect our editorial recommendations. See the editorial policy for the full disclosure.
